Misc Inst - SKU: C7.CGB379 Composed by Margaret R Tucker. Christmas. With Misc Instruments, Cello (Bsn,Tbn), Violin (Oboe, Clarinet), Flute (Violin), Violin (Oboe, Flute). Score and parts. 20 pages. Chorister's Guild - Digital #CGB379. Published by Chorister's Guild - Digital (C7.CGB379). UPC: 749193009956.The tune PROSPECT, from Walker's Southern Harmony (1835), is given a warm, gentle setting. The use of original material (reminiscent of a bell peal) establishes an ethereal quality, especially when played with mallets while the bells are suspended in the air. LV, swing, and echo are additional techniques used to help sustain the beauty, and add variety to this work. All of this effectively supports the hymn text, which begins with the lone, wild bird in lofty flight is still with you, nor leaves your sight. And I am yours! I rest in you, Great Spirit, come, rest in me, too. With the alternate title, The Hills Are Bare at Bethlehem, the piece may also be used during the Christmas season.

Your Favorite Christmas Hymns and Carols for Wind Instruments
Arranged by Colin Kirkpatrick
Book 1
This essential collection may be all you ever need for your wind instruments at Christmas. It's a bargain price too! The arrangements are intended either as stand-alone pieces that could be used as interludes in a service, or they could be used to accompany solo, choral or congregational singing.
The publication consists of a four-staff score in concert pitch together with fourteen separate parts in various transpositions. There is also a fairly easy optional keyboard part. These four-part arrangements use flexible instrumentation so that you can exercise considerable control over the instrumental voicing. You can also create interesting instrumental tone colour by omitting groups of instruments. This can be achieved with the aid of a pencil. If the ensemble is large enough you could omit brass instruments in the quieter sections, or use a solo trumpet against a woodwind background. There are endless possibilities. You can hear the effect of omitting sections in the audio samples. The arrangements could therefore be played by brass quartet, woodwind quartet, saxophone quartet or virtually any combination of wind instruments. Using the piano part (which has been kept as simple as possible) the arrangements could also be used as solos or duets, depending of what instruments are available. Parts 1 and 2 in C have been printed an octave higher than the pitch shown in the score because the parts invariably are too low for flute or oboe. All the scores and parts are contained in a single125-page PDF file.
The publication consists of four-stave scores for each hymn and carol plus:
1. Part 1 in B flat (clarinet, trumpet, cornet, soprano sax);
2. Part 1 in C (8ve higher for piccolo, flute, oboe);
3. Part 1 in E flat (alto saxophone, E flat clarinet);
4. Part 2 in B flat (clarinet, trumpet, cornet, flugelhorn);
5. Part 2 in C (8ve higher for flute, oboe);
6. Part 2 in E flat (alto saxophone);
7. Part 3 in B flat (tenor saxophone, B flat baritone);
8. Part 3 in C (bass clef for trombone, bassoon);
9. Part 3 in E flat (E flat tenor horn, alto saxophone, alto clarinet);
10. Part 3 in F (French horn in F);
11. Part 3a in B flat (8ve below score pitch for 3rd clarinet);
12. Part 4 in B flat (B flat bass clarinet, B flat bass);
13. Part 4 in C (bass clef for trombone, bass trombone, bassoon, tuba);
14. Part 4 in E flat (E flat baritone saxophone, E flat bass)
Book 1 includes the following 19 titles: Angels from the Realms of Glory (Melody: Gloria); Away in a Manger (Melody: Mueller); Unto Us a Child Is Born (Melody: Puer Nobis); Christians Awake! (Melody: Yorkshire); Deck the Halls with Boughs of Holly (Melody: Nos Galan); Go Tell it on the Mountain; Good Christian Men, Rejoice (Melody: In Dulci Jubilo); Good King Wenceslas (Melody: Tempus Adest Floridum); I Saw Three Ships Come Sailing In; It Came Upon the Midnight Clear (Melody: Carol); Little Jesus, Sweetly Sleep (Melody: Rocking); O Christmas Tree (Melody: Tannenbaum); O Come all ye Faithful (Melody: Adeste Fidelis); O Little Town of Bethlehem (Melody: Saint Louis); O Holy Night (Melody: Cantique Noël); Silent Night (Melody: Stille Nacht); The Holly and the Ivy; We Wish You a Merry Christmas and What Child is This? (Melody: Greensleeves)
The audio samples include Angels from the Realms of Glory, Deck the Halls with Boughs of Holly, Go Tell it on the Mountain and Silent Night. Please note that arrangements in the publication are not intended to be compatible with Your Favorite Christmas Hymns and Carols for Brass.

Trumpet Duet - Advanced Intermediate - Digital Download Composed by Various. Arranged by Kenneth Baird. Christian, Sacred, Repertoire, Christmas. Score. 24 pages. Published by Kenneth Baird Music
Many have loved the duet arrangements found in the original collection of 12 Christmas Duets for Trumpets arranged by Kenneth Baird. Volume 2 is now available! As in the original collection, this is a delightful collection of intermediate to advanced-intermediate level duets based on traditional Christmas carols. They are challenging at times (not for beginners) without being overwhelming; at times joyful, at times uplifting, at times serene. There's even a very jazzy version of Go Tell It on the Mountain! In addition to being a joy for friends to play together, they are a great resource for teachers to play at lessons with their students, they are are suitable for informal Christmas performances, and many are appropriate for church services. Note: the duets in this collection have NOT been arranged to be fully compatible with Mr. Baird's duet collections for other instruments. Instead, these have been arranged specifically for trumpets. This collection does include the duets found in previously released Five More Christmas Duets for Trumpets by Mr. Baird. Included in Christmas Duets, Volume 2, are: Carol of the Bells, Ding Dong! Merrily on High, the First Noel, Go Tell It on the Mountain, It Came Upon a Midnight Clear, Jingle Bells, Joy to the World (a more traditional version than found in the original duet collection), We Three Kings, Angels We Have Heard on High, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, and In Dulci Jubilo (Good Christian Men Rejoice). If you are looking for simple harmonizations of Christmas Carols, this collection is not for you. If you are looking for something more, you've come to the right place.

Flute,Piano - Level 3 - SKU: A0.549686 Composed by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Children,Christmas,Romantic Period,Standards. Score and part. 14 pages. Jmsgu3 #3520291. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549686). Duration: ca. 1:42, 52 measures, Score: 7 pages, solo part: 2 pages, piano part: 4 pages. A popular Christmas favorite from Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite. Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky Tchaikovsky is probably the most popular of the great composers in America. His music certainly appeals to musicians. Likewise, it appeals even to folks who don’t normally listen to serious music. This is probably because of his most noteworthy melodies. Above all, he writes with great emotion. This certainly makes a most noteworthy if not an unforgettable impact. Education First of all, He attended classes at the Russian Musical Society. Even more, He also attended the St. Petersburg Conservatory. There he studied music theory with Nikolai Zaremba. He also consequently studied composition with Anton Rubenstein. It seems like Rubenstein came under criticism from a group of Russian composers known as the Five. The Five The Five certainly rejected Western musical influences. They rather sought to use elements from Russian music. They furthermore wanted to use more exotic musical materials. Western Techniques More than other Russian composers, Tchaikovsky studied modern Western music. He certainly develops his music like the European masters. So, rather than repeating a motive, he moves to a new key. He then introduces a different theme in the new key. Hence, he maintained his independence from the Five. Even more, he became the first Russian composer of international stature. Influences Tchaikovsky was probably influenced in his ballet scoring by Léo Delibes. Richard Wagner influenced his symphonic writing. Tchaikovsky’s most famous works include the 1812 Overture, The Nutcracker Suite, and Swan Lake. Also famous are the Violin Concerto in D and the six symphonies. The greatest of the six symphonies may be No. 6, the Pathétique. Nutcracker Suite, Op. 71a The Nutcracker Suite is a ballet that was performed for the first time in December 1892 in St. Petersburg. To begin with, the original ballet failed to attract a positive reception. However, the ballet suite became probably one of the most popular of all of Tchaikovsky’s works. The ballet suite became even more famous in the 1960s. It is now performed all over the world, particularly during the Christmas season.

Baritone Saxophone,Piano - Level 3 - SKU: A0.549683 Composed by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Children,Christmas,Romantic Period,Standards. Score and part. 14 pages. Jmsgu3 #3520273. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549683).

Brass Ensemble Trumpet - Level 3 - SKU: A0.813075 Composed by Traditional French Melodies. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. Christmas,Classical,Instructional,Multicultural,Standards,World. Score and parts. 22 pages. Regis Bookshar #6097387. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.813075). Trumpet Quintet - Intermediate - . This selection, Burgundian Air/March of the Three Kings, has been arranged for 5 Trumpets, by Regis Bookshar and is one of the many arrangements from The Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble's extensive music library which are becoming available for the first time. It would be a great addition to any music library. It incorporates two traditional French melodies into one exciting arrangement, which, I'm certain, will entertain both performers and audiences alike. It is suitable for high school and college students and is perfect for Christmas concerts and church services but could be performed anytime and anywhere. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (22 pages). It begins with a Burgundian Air, played by a solo instrument. The melody is then played by two instruments in harmony before the rest of the ensemble joins in. This is followed by the March of the Three Kings, a Provencal melody (La Marche Des Rois Mages) which dates from the 13th century and recalls the Three Kings of the Christmas story. The peasants probably sang and danced to this tune, even perhaps honoring their own folk heroes, the French dukes, dressed in their shining armor and carrying brilliant banners, as they marched off to the Crusades. Georges Bizet utilized this tune as a farandole, or stately dance, in his incidental music for Alphonse Daudet's play L'Arlesienne (The Girl from Arles). There is a fugal section in which each instrument enters, playing an embellished version of the tune before concluding the arrangement. Also available are other settings of these two Traditional French melodies for a variety of instrumental ensembles as well as numerous other arrangements in a variety of styles. Please feel free to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar. You may find something else which might interest you as well. I'm certain that students will enjoy playing this arrangement.
